A connection between a play and myself reads the similarity of a common "drive" to live.

Welcome to my first blog. You will read about the connection I have with the play, Death of a Salesman.
"Drive"
The play, Death of a Salesman, has many different morals and connections that people might often relate to. Following a life of a depressed and anxious aged man, Willy Loman, the story follows his struggles to keep on living between illusion and reality. Some may be able to connect to his craze to be successful and overall “well-liked” in society, but personally, I relate to the hidden reason behind his greatest wish; his drive for family despite his actions being negatively viewed.
Willy Loman has always had this clinging sensation to hold on to be successful, especially his goal to live the “American Dream”. He constantly blinds himself from reality, thinking of the old times where his sons were happy and actually doing something with their life. Each flashback that he experiences is based off his wishes for his family to become successful as he tries to hide the fact that he has dementia and is a failure. Although Willy’s actions may have not seemed like he was acting towards his family, Willy had a different way of looking at life and deep down, family was always something at the back of his mind.
In relation to Willy’s “American Dream” fantasy, it is justified that he took his own life to help support his family in the long run. The will that his family would get from his death was Willy’s way to give back to his family.
Willy’s wish to find success within his family is an aspect that I myself can connect to. Inside Willy’s delusion is his kindness and trying to seek happiness within his family. I can relate to this as my family is my drive to succeed in life as well. Family has always been the most important thing in my life. I have five siblings myself and I am grateful for each and every one of them. I always strive to make my family proud and always help them with anything they need. Like Death of a Salesman, family is my drive, family is my means of survival, family motivates to be the best person I can be and my family will always be over everything.

Excellent post, your connections were clear and precise. It is evident how much family means to you, clearly you have the same drive in you that gives you motivation. I loved seeing the personal touch adding a family photo in the beginning, it displayed that raw and true love that we can only find within our families. The definition of family that you added in the end made me smile, then I started thinking of my family and what they mean to me. Truly an insightful and reflective piece, well done.
Aleeya, this blog is really interesting and I liked reading it alot. I like how you put Willy's craze in a different perspective by saying he does what he does because he wants to be successful for his family. I haven't thought of a reason for his actions like that and it gave me a different look at the book which is really cool. I like how you connect this to your self saying you strive to make your family proud which I think is amazing. You make really good connections in this blog that made it very interesting to read, great job!!
Aleeya, I really enjoyed reading your first blog. I like how you connected this blog with your family. In life, family is the most important thing no matter what and that was the same thing that Willy wanted in his life and cared about, his family. Like you said, you can relate to this to your family and that your drive is to succeed in life. I thought you explained Willy’s connection with his family well and how your family is somehow connected to as well. Willy’s family has been the most important thing in his life as it is for your family. Willy always tried to strive to make his family proud of him and I like how you…
You did a great job persuading your perspective of Willy as a true family man despite his actions being typically looked down upon. It is also clearly evident that like Willy, your family is extremely important to you. I would suggest giving examples on a situation where you and your family have demonstrated how you support each other or how you "strive to make your family proud". I enjoyed the visuals because not only is it an adorable photo, it also proves to me how genuine your relationship is.
Your blog post connects yourself to Willy and his family well, showing the importance of family. The importance of family in your life is seen clearly through all the extra quotes in the links. Also, the first picture with you and your family shows how important it is for you to have the support you receive from your family, especially with so many people to rely on. The extra links that you put at the end are helpful to see the different views of drive in other people's eyes compared to yours. Having the synonyms of "drive" is helpful to understand the point you are trying to prove. This blog post has helped me to learn about your views of…
